The Challenge:

Though at first not convinced that tenants would pay a premium for leasing a green building, the developers decided to do the right thing for sustainability and the environment, and it's paid off. Its LEED certification is a selling point in attracting tenants, and the building was recently sold for one of the highest dollar-per-square-foot prices of any building in Chicago. "I think tenants recognize the importance of the sustainable design," says Matt Larson of Goettsch Partners, the architectural firm that designed the building. With its zero-VOC, low-odor formula, Sherwin-Williams Harmony Interior Latex helped the builder keep the coatings used in the building green as well.
