Miami, FLA.

Stephen Ross is one of the NFL's most colorful owners, making headlines for bringing in celebrity team owners of his Miami Dolphins and signing a temporary stadium naming rights deal with Jimmy Buffett.

Now called Sun Life Stadium, the home of the Dolphins also got a vibrant new color scheme, along with numerous architectural changes from Sherri Gutierrez of Miami's Arquitectonica, aimed at delivering a more fan-friendly experience. RCC, a Deerfield Beach construction and management firm, was chosen to handle the renovation of the concourse concession areas.

The fast-paced schedule had to be strictly adhered to accommodate the numerous college and pro games scheduled during the construction period. RHW, a Hollywood, Fla. firm known for years of service to retail giants and projects like the Village At Gulfstream Park and Flagler Casino and Racetrack, was chosen to handle the paint and wallcovering makeover.

With the stadium scheduled to host both the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl and the 2010 Superbowl, RHW owners Bob West and Troy Traina felt the pressure not only to meet the tight deadlines, but to choose a product that would deliver the eye-popping wow factor of the designer's vivid color pallete.

After careful evaluation with their Sherwin-Williams reps, they selected Resilience Exterior Latex for its superior ability to resist fade from UV exposure, its durability to stand up to the abuse of constant pressure cleaning following game days, and ability to match the specified pure bright colors.

"We were initially concerned that the colors chosen would take multiple coats and an excessive amount of time and labor to cover," they said. "But Resilience covered so well, even with the bright reds, yellows, and oranges. We were very happy with the results, both aesthetically and from a labor-to install standpoint."

In all, RHW used 1,608 gallons of Resilience at the stadium, plus another 460 gallons of A-1OO Exterior Latex and a number of Sherwin-Williams protective coatings, epoxies and floor coatings.
