We’re making it even easier to integrate coatings and colors into your design tools, including a new Sherwin-Williams and BIMSmith® partnership.
This Sherwin-Williams portfolio of design tools will help you save time, create better specs and keep up with the latest in digital design trends. Ready to get started? Explore tools below.
Sherwin-Williams and BIMSmith®What does it do? Sherwin-Williams is the first paint company to form a partnership with the Anguleris Technologies® Building Information Modeling (BIM) platform, BIMsmith®. You can now access Sherwin-Williams paints and coatings directly on the BIMsmith design platform and build complete wall assemblies with actual products. BIMsmith gives you accurate outputs for each custom assembly such as three-part specifications, cut-sheets and fully annotated Revit Families.
Why do you need it? The BIMsmith platform is free for architects, designers and other industry professionals. It is cloud-based, which gives users the ability to design and virtually build wall, ceiling and floor systems on the fly. Once a system is completed, customized files are a click away for download.
What does it do? Homing in on the right colors and coatings for your project comes easy when you use SpecExpress — a simple program designed to help you quickly and easily create a three-part CSI construction product specification. With just a few quick answers, you’ll have specs — including paired primers and top coats — that meet your project criteria. Then, simply download your specification as a Word, WP or RTF file, or use in its entirety or added to a project master specification.
Why do you need it? Time is a precious commodity, and SpecExpress helps you maximize it by easily and quickly narrowing down paint selection options to meet aesthetic, durability and performance requirements for your projects.
What does it do? Downloadable color palettes for Photoshop and AutoCAD let you picture Sherwin-Williams paint colors in graphics, designs and more, so you can choose your favorite colors before you paint.
Why do you need it? Even though digital design is ever-evolving, downloadable color palettes keep up with any Photoshop or AutoCAD updates. These also come in handy for building online mood boards.
What does it do? The Autodesk Material Library Files with Sherwin-Williams colors and coatings now make it point-and-click easy for you to specify the correct paint products and colors in your models and renderings. You can save our Autodesk Material Library Files locally on your computer or to a centralized network for access by multiple people. Access paint series, color number and name, and the appearance properties of the paint sheen. You can then instantly apply colors, with photo-realistic accuracy, throughout your model.
Why do you need it? Specification is a different process today than it was just five years ago. New staffing models, digital toolsets and demands for 4D design are radically altering how specs get written and delivered, and AutoDesk Revit will help you stay up to speed.
