How do you know this paint will kill indicated pathogens on painted surfaces?
EPA test protocol that was validated by a third-party lab showed that it has the power to kill 99.9 percent of Staph (Staphylococcus aureus), E. coli (Escherichia coli), MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), VRE (Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis) and Enterobacter aerogenes on painted surfaces within two hours of exposure, and continues to kill 90 percent of bacteria for up to four years when the integrity of the surface is maintained.

Will cleaning affect the paint’s ability to kill pathogens?
Cleaning does not impact the ability of the painted surface in reducing certain bacteria, provided the surface integrity is maintained. Plan on routine cleaning to remove dirt, something that’s necessary for good sanitization and to ensure effective antibacterial performance of the surface. Clean the surface if it gets soiled and up to once per month, or based on the current standard cleaning schedule.

This paint helps improve indoor air quality by reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) levels from potential sources like carpet, cabinets and fabrics. It also works to reduce unwanted household odors so rooms stay fresher, longer. And antimicrobial agents inhibit the growth of mold and mildew on the paint surface and inhibit the growth of bacterial odors.

How does the technology work?
