Using the Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck® Deck Care system, you can prepare your deck to maintain that everlasting look.
1) Inspect
The part of the deck connected to your house is called the ledger board. Make sure you examine yours to ensure the wood is sound, and the fasteners are solid. In addition, check all the boards and joists to ensure structural integrity before you start the staining process.
2) Prepare
Make sure your deck is clean – sweep away any debris, and clear off planters, furniture, fire pits, etc. Using the SuperDeck® deck wash, scrub your deck with a thick-bristled broom to remove any stubborn dirt. For professional-looking results, use Sherwin-Williams Stain & Sealer Remover, and Revive™ restorer during the process.
3) Stain
Pick your specific SuperDeck® staining agent, and apply per the can’s instructions. There are several options to choose from, including clear, transparent and solid varieties – all perfect for most decks.
