How to Design a Shared Space for Your Kids
If you are considering a shared space for your children, here are a few painting and design tips to make the most of a small space.
Set a Neutral Base
Choose a neutral underlying color palette for the larger elements of the room (walls, rugs, furniture) and let each child have a chance to express themselves by using smaller accent colors. This gives you a little control over the room's final look while still allowing each child some individual expression.
Let the Walls Speak for Themselves
Create an environment of creativity and self-expression. Draw Boundaries
Sharing a room doesn't have to mean your children share everything. Help your children create appropriate separation through customized bookshelves, desks or toy bins. If you paint the shelves or desk with each child's signature color, they will each have their own defined space.
