  1. 1

Begin by wiping off your frames with a damp rag to make sure the surface is clean. Lay down a drop cloth or old bed sheet while the frames dry.

If you get stuck and can't decide on a color, ColorSnap is the perfect tool for finding color schemes and inspiration.

  2. 2

Use a 3-in-1 tool to gently open the paint cans and then lightly stir the paint.

  3. 3

Use the Purdy 1" XL Dale brush to apply the first coat of paint. Allow the paint to dry for 4 hours before applying the second coat.

While you are waiting to apply your second coat, keep your brushes from drying out by wrapping them in plastic or foil.

  4. 4

Be sure to read the label on your paint can to see dry time. Let the frames dry for at least 1 hour to touch.

  5. 5

Clean up: Always clean your brushes for future use. Learn how to properly store and dispose of paint here.
