This definitely went on more like a paint. The product covered well and held well through the winter. Only reason I'm giving 4 vs. 5 stars is It will need to be touched up in the high traffic areas, steps and where thing may have been moved around on the deck. I do think this would still be needed with any other paint/stain so I'm not horribly disappointed. It truly does keep cool under the hot sun. I was able to walk in my bare feet on 90° days. It did not disappoint in that area!
I used the Pine Cone 4 years ago and the deck still looks good. I have never had a deck coating come close to lasting this long. I have not pressure washed the deck since I stained and the deck gets intense sunlight all day long. There was some places where mildew formed but nothing to get excited about. Today, I decided to stain it again as part of regular maintenance so I pressure washed and scrubbed the deck with a deck brightener. Now I am having second thoughts.
Color disparity between cans is too much and now I will have to buy more product to redo parts of the deck. Half the deck looks reddish brown and other half looks grayish brown. There is obviously an issue at the factory with creating this product. I ordered 15 cans for the project and mixed together as much as I could as recommended on the can.
