Video Transcription:
Randy Fornoff learned the trade by working in his father's painting company.
Now he and his brothers are running the family business.
One of the keys to their growth he says has been making the effort to learn more about business operations to become better leaders.
Painting is easy compared to the management because we're not - we don't have MBAs.
We haven't gone for a business school we're self-taught.
Dad taught us well but we've kind of taken it to the next level with making it a bigger company and adding a level of management and things like that.
They've learned valuable lessons and leadership from studying corporate management methods and by networking with other contractors and groups like the PDCA.
Improving communication skills between family members, for example, is crucial.
We are going to bump into each other.
We're going to have disagreements, we got to work it out.
We got to get to the truth, we have to figure it out and we have to apologize early, quickly and also, but don't be afraid to put out ideas.
And don't be afraid to bump into each other because it's the only way we're going to get better and work as a team.
